Charlie Warde (born in London in 1974, lives and works in Marseille) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice examines the relationship between the utopian ideals of Modernist architecture and the realities of their social and political legacy. Drawing on post-war social housing as his primary source material, he reconsiders buildings conceived as symbols of progress at a time when much of this architectural heritage is being demolished or dismissed as a failed experiment.
