Maxime Lis is a French designer based in Lyon, whose multidisciplinary practice spans furniture, object design, sculpture and artistic direction. Guided by curiosity, observation and a thoughtful approach to everyday uses, he creates objects that balance functionality, material economy and formal expression. Through his manifesto Acte minimum, Lis advocates for a sensitive and purposeful design that challenges established conventions while placing the essential qualities of an object at its centre. He is also the artistic director of French furniture brand Airborne and has works in the permanent collection of the Mobilier national.
